An old letter

Dearest dad,

I speak of you to my daughter who hasn't had the privilege of meeting you. I speak of you to myself. I live moments lived with you in my head. I talk about things that come to me as I'm going through stuff and share it with Taran. That smile of yours upstairs balcony, the sight of you reading news paper with ammi and drinking coffee, the image of you and I going to fisherman's market on sunday's - the drive of you to catch the bus at night to visit luna in Tumkur, I thank you for giving me the life I experienced before I started living on my own. At work, I have this old letter of yours that you wrote to me. It reminds me of simpler uncomplicated times.

I'll always miss someone like you with such integrity and love.

your daughter...

Dear baba

You taught us the unaffordable lesson 2 years ago. We still havent come to terms with that.

Ammi and all your friends in Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Eluru and Hyderabad are having a get together to talk about your works and about you. Ammi organised to distinguish the works of two budding telugu authors and sponsor them. She says this is the beauty you saw in people and she wants to keep it alive, keep the spirit of reading, love of literacy alive.

A little girl or a boy from CRY will be sponsored and a child with cleft will be operated with your blessings from Smile Train.

We want you around us and this is best way we could think of, we want to spread the smiles around. Come back to us soon, abbu.

Khaali seesalu needs to be continued....
